Tedd Koren. Killed by Fairies. February 2006 (free) newsletter.
A man who makes trouble for others is also making trouble for himself. – Chinua Achebe Table of Contents
This is an exciting time. I never expected to be a “technique developer.” For me, Koren Publications was more than I could expect. And yet here I have KST, an incredible technique that we’re taking to LA, Chicago, Seattle and Atlanta this year. I now know the joy of having students give me success stories. It warms my heart. So, in addition to interesting articles, I’d like to share some KST success stories below. Tedd Killed by fairies
For our ancestors, night meant fear of demons, witches and nighthags. An incubus or succubus might waft into your bed... 'in one English parish, Lamplugh, out of 52 premature deaths from 1650 to 1663, four people were "frighted to death by fairies," seven were "bewitched," and one was "led into a horse pond by a will of the wisp."' (1) ”What nonsense,” we say. And yet, don’t those creatures have their counterparts today? How many are dragged off by that dreaded beast, the osteosarcoma? Killed by its insatiable relative, the astrocytoma? Or ruined by the cruel schizophrenia? Today’s monsters may have scientific sounding names yet they are as mysterious as a "will of the wisp" or a “nighthag.” That fear continues as people walk into their well-lit doctor’s office with the same dread the dark streets and forests forebode in the past. “Will he find a mysterious creature growing inside of me?” “Is something terrible slowly descending upon me?” These creatures often strike us unawares just as the nighthag of yesteryear. By the time cancer, stroke or a sudden heart attack strikes us down the “victim” has been deteriorating for many years under regular medical care. The time to deal with these dangers is before they become serious. That’s why chiropractors, nutritionists, homeopaths, naturopaths, acupuncturists and other natural healers are becoming so popular. The scary things arising from within us can often be prevented by correcting the imbalances in our physiology in the early stages – rather than waiting for The Big One to drag us away in the night. [Wolkomir R and Wolkomir J. When bandogs howle & spirits walk. Smithsonian. 2001;3(10):39-44.] And it’s even worse if they do have a good medical explanation… “An estimated 12% of primary care patients report persistent physical symptoms for which no good medical explanation can be found.” [Lamberg L. New mind/body tactics target medically unexplained physical symptoms and fears. JAMA. 2005;294(17):2152.] Like we needed one in the first place? Vaccine for bird flu may be useless, say experts… A VACCINE ordered by the government as a defense against avian flu may not prove effective, the latest scientific findings suggest. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2039079,00.html New advance in medicine – avoid it Non-vaccinated children are healthier Is it therefore wise to vaccinate children against relatively benign diseases? If a child is well nourished (as is the case for 99.99+% of children in the US and other modern countries) these diseases are beneficial. BBC NEWS: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/1/hi/health/4471957.stm From USA Today: Locals say chiropractic key to recovery From neck, back pain to allergies, chiropractic may ease body's ailments. (Perhaps we should tell some teachers in chiropractic school about this; they may learn something.) http://www.theleafchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060125/LIFESTYLE/601250314/1024 “They can dish it out, but they can’t take it” department
In a similar vein, “hate crimes” laws are, in my opinion, unconstitutional. For example, if a person throws a brick through a church or synagogue window he should be punished. But, if at the same time, they yell an anti-Christian or anti-Jewish remark then it’s a “hate crime” and the punishment is different. We are punishing people for thinking bad thoughts. Doesn’t that remind you of the “thought police” of George Orwell’s 1984? Flu vaccine a big failure
Although immunization rates in those over 65 have increased 50% in the past 20 years there has been no decline in flu related deaths. In addition to ineffectiveness the flu shot’s typical ingredients include aluminum, which is associated with Alzheimer’s and seizures, mercury which is linked to brain damage, ADHD and autism and phenol, a carcinogen. Additionally mortality rates for those over 85 between 1968 and 2001 showed no change as well. The authors add: “Studies substantially overestimate vaccination benefit.” A more diplomatic way of saying it’s useless. (8)
Breastfeeding prevents leukemia
It’s only safe to say this after retirement Former UK science chief: 'MMR fears coming true'. A former government medical officer responsible for deciding whether medicines are safe has accused the government of 'utterly inexplicable complacency' over the MMR vaccine for children. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=376203&in_page_id=1774 Does the vertebral subluxation exist?

Retracing. “I Love this technique. I adjusted a woman who burst into tears; past memories were coming up after the adjustment. It was a very intense and powerful experience! I love the certainty that this technique gives me. I am so grateful!!” –Gabrielle Freedman, D.C. More Referrals with KST. “My practice is growing fast – thanks to KST. Patients are now bringing someone with them to show them what I’m doing. Everyone is happy I don’t “crack” their bones. I am getting lots of referrals.” –Friso Krueger From a patient. “I've been seeing DC's for about 13 years, and worked in administration at Life in Georgia from 1994 to 1998. I wanted to try KST. I looked on your website for a referral and went to Dr. Matthew Robbins…I've had many different techniques used on me, & this is definitely the best one. Thanks!” –Debbi Victory for chiropractic! Myovision beats multiple insurance companies - Superior Technology Affirmed in Superior Court I’ve been a Myovision fan for years. Not only do they produce a superior product, they stand up to bullies. When Florida declared Surface EMG illegal to bill for personal injury insurance, David Marcarian, Founder of MyoVision, took on multiple insurance companies and the State of Florida. On January 5th 2006, the Florida Superior Court unanimously upheld MyoVision and Chiropractic Surface EMG. Some highlights: 1. This win can be used as a precedence case for all US courts re: admissibility of SEMG evidence. MyoVision users need not be concerned about credibility.
The Family Hope Center (FHC)
I’ve worked with and for the wonderful people at FHC, a center that provides help for vaccine- and birth-injured children and adults using holistic, natural healthcare. Their program includes teaching parents to work on their children to achieve greater results than generally believed, or even imagined. The Center tailors a unique, integrated regimen using nutrition, homeopathy, bio-meridian analysis, cranial sacral therapy, Koren Specific Technique, myofascial release therapy, sensory, motor, respiratory and emotional therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy ("HBOT"), neurofeedback, and energy work under one system. Parents are coming in from all over the world for a special seminar for parents:
March 29, 30 & 31, 2006 in Philadelphia, PA, USA
Dr. Koren, You are a warrior for our profession and I hope you never burn out. We need you. I burn out often. I love your newsletter. I question the irony of you saying a 50 year old black man has nothing to do with your mother and then you say aspartame causes leukemia in rats? Was that humor? Once again, I LOVE YOUR STUFF! I just thought that was funny. You're the man! Brian Grindstaff, D.C. Dr. Koren, The article relating to your mother was very good and I couldn't agree more. However, you reference the fact that...”how can a study be good for a 50-year old white male and then that study be used to validate the prescription for my 80+ mother.” Again, I agree wholeheartedly. But then you refer to the aspartame study which was done on rats. You see where I'm going with this…I also feel that we need congruency…it may not be wise to agree with one study because it makes us look good and then disagree with another because the control group doesn't fit our parameters. Dr. Joel R. Pirmann, D.C. Dear Drs. Grindstaff and Pirmann, You make good points. Controlled clinical trials don't work; they're based on a flawed premise that an entire population can be tested by using a representative sample of unique individuals. There are many limitations with animal research as well. In fact most research should be taken with a grain of salt. Regarding aspartame, more than one study has linked it to brain tumors in rats. Research on humans has not been done. The studies cited are not equal, that is true. But, even a hint of danger from an unnatural substance such as aspartame is enough for my family to avoid it. Tedd PS. By the way, Koren Publications sells a great DVD dealing with how aspartame was approved. What a scam! It’s called “Sweet Misery” and is excellent. Thought you would get a kick out of this. Click on the link below. I hope you have the volume on your computer turned up.
Tedd, your last newsletter was a blast thanks, Joseph J. Ierano Camden NSW, Australia Life Extension (www.lef.org) postulated that high cholesterol is because the body is trying to compensate for the loss of the 'end' hormones: testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, etc that come from cholesterol. These and other hormones decrease with age (from 30-35yrs old, at about 10% each decade) and the body will demand more of the 'mother lode' to be able to diversify it down into the end hormones that are essentially needed. Thus decreasing the cholesterol in folk would lower even more the hormones that are being produced, leading to more problems and of course more drugs to off-set the new symptoms. We see it all the time in the clinic. Once people find out they are worse on medical drugs/diet they try to go back to their previous way of living. Mike Feiner, D.C. I've come up with a response when a patient hints that his co-pay will bankrupt him...you know the old "10 visits @ $20 per visit...$200?...my back doesn't hurt that much"...I ask them to imagine a country WITHOUT pharmacies...and how would patients react if they had to return to their MD's office every day for their pills....and on the way out be forced to pay another $20 co-pay? Do you think there would be less drug usage in time? It really gets them thinking!! C. Shade, D.C. Tedd, You made the news in Tennessee. Daniel Bai, D.C. http://www.theleafchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060125/LIFESTYLE/601250315/1024 Tedd, I've been invited to speak at the local Osteopathic University Holistic club…I've also been in contact with the Governor's Senior Policy advisor, who wanted to have my information on vaccination in summery format. I told him I couldn't give him the information in summery, so I'll give you a small book (yours on vaccination), and a whole bunch of my compiled information. I also contacted the DHS office and offered to give them a talk, “Why parents would choose not to vaccinate.” My DHS contact stated my phone call caused a "fit" at the DHS office. I’m to go to the county court house to speak to the Judges and others involved with stripping parental rights. Chad Rolfson, D.C., Iowa I graduated from Life in 1980. I was told that DC stands for Doctor of Chronic. Medicare guidelines and numerous insurance policies focus on making us Doctors of Acute symptoms and seem to give the opinion that subluxations that are not causing gross symptoms is maintenance and inappropriate. In order to position chiropractic to serve more people, we need to emphasize that a subluxation is as serious as a cholesterol problem etc. I want to work with other DC's who are like minded so a strategy can be created to protect patients and doctors who are rendering legitimate care, being reimbursed and not in jeopardy from insurance audits etcetera. George Brewster, Jr., D.C. I remember my Microbiology professor at Palmer lecturing on 'slow' bugs, and how the stronger ones would survive the initial onslaught...and get stronger. So do we stop giving antibiotics? Not according to the latest Glaxo Drug Company commercial...according to the commercial we should be 'thanking' them for their continued devotion to researching new antibiotics, because as they say...the germs keep coming and coming!!! Craig Schade, D.C. Eccentric chiropractor in newspaper: Humor I hope this is humor, oh man, I hope this is humor and not the future. Now you know why I vote Libertarian. Want to know how to order a pizza in 2010? Click the link below and see.... Listen closely and watch the screen and pointer carefully. http://www.aclu.org/pizza/images/screen.swf Yesterday scientists revealed that beer contains small traces of female hormones. To prove their theory, the scientists fed 100 men 12 pints of beer and observed that 100% of them gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became emotional, and couldn’t drive. – No further testing is planned. OK, one last one
