New Koren Specific Technique (KST) quotes:

I first heard of your work when I read an article in The American Chiropractor. I knew then I wanted to study with you. I thought, if this is half as good as he says, I will be thrilled. I am thrilled. Eleanor DeVinny, D.C.

Great fun adjusting Monday! My favorite comment was from a patient who came in for neck pain, which disappeared as I worked on him: "Is it supposed to get better that fast?" Robin Schaefer, D.C., L.Ac.

Find out more about KST below.

Zappa on Crossfire

A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians.

Frank Zappa is a true American hero, much more than a musical genius. In this Crossfire show, Zappa comes across as erudite, literate and composed – as opposed to his hotheaded antagonists who were functioning at a fraction of his bandwidth. If he were alive today I bet he’d run for office as a Libertarian. See it at http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2658805?htv=12.

The truth about bird flu revealed

Fowl! Bird flu: It’s not what you think
by Sherri J. Tenpenny, D.O.

Every year the media starts presenting scary flu stories. An epidemic is coming! A pandemic is coming!! Save yourself, get your flu shot right away!!!

Few know that these stories are purposely printed to manipulate public opinion.

Sherri Tenpenny reveals what’s behind the headlines in this incredible book that every doctor – and every patient – should read. Before federally mandated vaccination laws are passed, you need know the facts. What is flu? Avian flu? What’s going on? This book is now available from Koren Publications; call 800-537-3001 or go to www.korenpublications.com.

The latest re: Stephen Barrett, MD

I can’t tell you….yet. You remember we beat him in October 2005 and his motion to reverse was rejected by the court in March 2006. We are moving forward against this quackpot. There will be exciting news in the near future. Stay tuned. Go to www.foundationforhealthchoice.com for the latest and donate for healthcare freedom.

School science experiment on microwaves

Still using a microwave? Think twice. This is fascinating. If a kid could do it – why isn’t the FDA requiring this kind of research? http://www.rense.com/general70/microwaved.htm

Ready to learn Koren Specific Technique (KST)?
Doctors and patients call it “The best adjustment I ever had in my life.”

KST is easy to learn, specific, low-force and you can even adjust yourself. And these adjustments hold!

Thank you for a fantastic KST seminar. I first heard of your work when I read an article in The American Chiropractor. I knew then I wanted to study with you. I thought, if this is half as good as he says, I will be thrilled. I am thrilled. I started adjusting my sister and brother-in-law on Saturday night, again on Sunday. Setting my sister’s cranial/facial bones strengthened her eyes in a way no amount of nutrition has been able to. I got home Monday night and adjusted my partner. Her neck is releasing in a way I have never been able to get it to open up. I started KST with my patients on Tuesday and am so blown away and excited with the results that I hardly know what to do. I adjusted a patient with a big hump, and it literally shrunk to half its size in 3 minutes. When you adjusted me on Saturday I was so grateful. I instantly felt so much better...everything shifted...woke up. I am adjusting myself too. Thank you for all you taught me. Eleanor DeVinny, D.C.

My first patient has had sinus congestion for years and after adjusting the sphenoids, zygoma and nasal bones, they were instantly cleared. She was amazed, as was I (but I didn't show it). She said that she had broken her nose 3 X's in the past! Steven Ross, D.C.

Mercury is safe? JAMA thinks so.

The Journal of the AMA, as keeper of the faith when it comes to mercury’s devastating effects in vaccines and dental fillings, actually had the nerve to publish papers saying mercury was fine and dandy. How can they publish this junk? Go to www.iaomt.org to see marvelous rebuttal articles.

Holistic veterinarian

Finding a veterinarian who is skilled in homeopathic or holistic modalities can be challenging for many pet owners so those who have the skills often offer phone consultations. Michael Dym, V.M.D. is one such veterinarian. Dr. Dym has clients across the nation. For consultations or information write to him at homeopathicvet@juno.com. Read an interview with him at http://www.hpathy.com/interviews/MichaelDym.asp.

Enough with evidence-based medicine (EBM)

I’m in favor of good research but randomized controlled trials are useless (even its developer admitted it). The latest fad is “evidence-based medicine” and it’s no improvement either.
Like any fashion, its time has come and gone. Chiropractors and other empirical healers beware – don’t get caught in these rationalist (medical) fads. The only true determinant of whether a healthcare intervention works is empirical research (i.e. individualized care based on case histories and outcome studies). The article below from the British Medical Journal pokes fun at EBM while suggesting where its adherents can go.

To determine whether parachutes are effective in preventing major trauma related to gravitational challenge, a systematic review was performed of all studies examining the effects of using a parachute during free fall. Data sources included Medline, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases. The main outcome measure was death or major trauma, defined as an injury severity score >15. The authors were unable to identify any randomized controlled trials of parachute intervention. They concluded that the effectiveness of parachutes has not been subjected to rigorous evaluation by randomized controlled trials.
Comment: Advocates of evidence-based medicine have criticized the acceptance of interventions that have been evaluated only by observational studies. The use of parachutes during free fall is one such unproven intervention. The authors of this report suggest that everyone might benefit if the most radical proponents of evidence-based medicine organized and participated in a double blind randomized, placebo-controlled crossover trial of the parachute.

Get an exemption to mandatory vaccination

At www.NVIC.org you can find state exemption laws. Some states require a religious exemption and do not recognize philosophical exemptions. MDs are loathe to give someone a medical exemption if the parents request one – so much for respecting individuals’ freedom of choice. To avoid vaccination using a religious exemption, people may join the non-denominational Church of Universal Wisdom. You don’t have to convert to another religion to do it. Got to www.cuwisdom.org or contact Walter P. Schilling, DC at cuw@comcast.net to find out more for yourselves and your patients.

The Vaccination Lecture kit

THREE PowerPoint™ presentations: 2 hours, 1 hour and 30 minutes (times approx.) in English, Spanish and French. You don’t even need PowerPoint to show it. Plus 53 bonus slides. Includes 30 and 60 minute audio CD talks for the car or to loan and a one hour audio/video slide show on CD for patients to watch. Plus: Six books containing the slides of all the lectures, the complete text of all the talks, citations and background material, “How to give a successful vaccination talk,” and brochures and handouts for the audience. Price: only $499.00. One new patient pays for it and you’ll get dozens; but the real reason to get it is to help people in your community. Go to www.korenpublications.com or call 800-537-3001.

Based on past experience with newsletters, I could not pay more, be any more excited, or get as much interest as I do with yours. I hope it is a labor of love for you because it comes across that it is.” Sincerely, Robert C. Kenny, DC, FASBE.

Married for a night

A man and a woman, who had never met before, but were both married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a transcontinental train. Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, they were both very tired and fell asleep quickly, he in the upper bunk and she in the lower. At 1:00 AM, the man leaned over and gently woke the woman saying, "Ma'am, I'm sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the closet to get me a second blanket? I'm awfully cold."

"I have a better idea," she replied. "Just for tonight, let's pretend that we're married."

"Wow! That's a great idea!" he exclaimed. "Good," she replied. "Get your own damn blanket!"

I recently picked a new primary care physician.

He said I was doing "fairly well" for my age. I thought I was living a healthy life. “Fairly well,” didn't sound so good! I couldn't resist asking, "Do you think I'll live to be 80?"

He asked, "Do you smoke tobacco or drink beer or wine?"

"Oh no," I replied. "I avoid even second-hand smoke; lung cancer is a big concern. Alcohol I was told was a gateway to Heroin and Crack, not to mention the side effects to your liver. As you can guess I'm not doing drugs, either."

Then he asked, "Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?"

I said, "No, my other Doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy! Cholesterol, trans fats, lipids, triglycerides..."

"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like riding ATVs, sailing, going on annual "La Familia Loca" outings, hiking, or bicycling?"

"No, I don't," I said. "I was told to avoid the sun for skin cancer, sun spots, premature wrinkling and aging. I was told that those ATVs flip over all the time and can cause serious injury. I do not hike because of deer ticks & Lyme disease, outdoor allergies and pollen, bee stings, etc."

He asked, "Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?"

No," I said. "I don't do any of those things. I avoid addictions, wear my seat belt, never speed or do anything reckless, and I'm afraid of HIV, herpes, warts, avian bird flu, hepatitis B, and all that bad stuff."

He looked at me and said, "Then why do you give a shit?"

See you next month. Tedd
