was a kid when I went to the hospital to visit someone who’d had
her wisdom teeth pulled out. The woman, while lying in the
hospital bed, turned and spit out lots of blood. Ugh! As the
years passed, so many people seemed to be getting their wisdom
teeth removed. This was something my parents’ generation rarely
had done. Why? Why do we suddenly have a new disease – wisdom
teeth not fitting? Why weren’t our jaws the right size anymore?
The answer came in Gibraltar where I was lecturing a few years
ago. Michael Pim, DC, who hosted the conference, handed me the
book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston
A. Price, DDS. I figured Price must be a new European
researcher. Wrong! He was an American who had done over 40 years
of the best nutrition research ever.In the 1930s he performed experiments and discovered that when cats were fed refined foods they had, over generations, progressively narrowing skulls and dental arches compared to cats that ate non-refined foods. He studied humans, traveling all over the world (Europe, Polynesia, Melonesia, Asia, Africa), and discovered the same thing – refined food diets resulted in narrowing of the skull and the maxillary arch (among other things). When people from the same tribe were exposed to refined foods (from missionary influence, new roads being built, etc.) the changes in their offspring were dramatic – children’s faces narrowed. Sometimes he examined families who ate traditional diets and then switched over, and the difference in the children from the same parents was striking. Wisdom tooth “disease” is the result of our nutrient-poor diet. The Weston A. Price Foundation (www.westonaprice.org) promotes nutrient dense, traditional diets – the kind that have served humanity for thousands of years. Please visit their web site. I liked Price’s book so much we put it in our catalog. If you’d like to get Price’s classic: Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, call 800-537-3001. It’ll be the best nutrition book you’ve ever read. Mammograms offer no health benefits whatsoever, doctors conclude An increasing number of doctors are contesting the claim that annual mammograms decrease women's risk of dying from breast cancer…other doctors have begun to assert that in addition to failing to offer protection, mammograms — which involve exposing patients to radiation —may actually increase women's risk of cancer. According to some authorities, the squeezing of women's breasts during mammograms may rupture blood vessels, causing cancer to spread to other parts of the body and actually increasing a patient's risk of death. http://www.newstarget.com/021608.html Cancer risk slashed fifty percent or more by sunlight, vitamin D http://www.newstarget.com/021576.html (Since I’m leaving for Panama to speak at The American Chiropractor magazine’s seminar, I thought I’d let you know why I’m going to be lying in the sun – a lot! I think winter gets to me around late February and March – my body is crying for more sunlight.) Increasing vitamin D intake through sunlight, diet or supplements may decrease a person's risk of contracting breast cancer by 50 percent and of contracting colorectal cancer by more than 65 percent, according to two recent studies conducted at the University of San Diego. The breast cancer study was published online in the most recent issue of the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The colorectal cancer study was published online in the February 6 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. The studies used meta-analysis to pool data from multiple previous studies, in order to increase precision and be able to draw conclusions that the original data did not allow. Researchers divided subjects into groups based on their blood levels of vitamin D, and compared the incidence of cancer between groups. "The data were very clear, showing that individuals in the group with the lowest blood levels had the highest rates of breast cancer, and the breast cancer rates dropped as the blood levels ... increased," said Cedric Garland, co-author of one of the studies. Dangers of fluoridated water confirmed On November 9, the American Dental Association (ADA) finally admitted that fluoride levels in common tap water could be dangerous for infants. The ADA recommended that fluoridated water should NOT be mixed into concentrated formula or foods intended for babies. The ADA's announcement comes on the heels of a National Research Council report that revealed fluoridation's adverse effects to the thyroid gland and to diabetics, kidney patients, high water drinkers and others. The Centers for Disease Control has added to the debate with a new report showing that fluoride absorbs into enamel topically. However, adverse effects occur upon ingestion. http://alerts.organicconsumers.org/trk/click?ref=zqtbkk3um_0-60x3c6x3176152& Pathways article on fluoride hazards: http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_97433.asp Koren Specific Technique Adjust

My biggest score was with my most difficult patient, my mother. One adjustment = zero pain, a first in 9 months! She has been all over the board with DO's, MD's and PT's. I also notice a lot of retracing. Andrea Brisson, DC In one year since learning KST my practice has more than doubled. I have been doing a combination of Network and KST for about a year and half now. Getting better and better results and more and more people under care, oh and more money than ever before in practice in the last 15 years!!! I love KST :-) Jens Korgaard, DC The recent surge in new patients has come from satisfied KST patients and their contacts....ie. two medical doctors that I’ve never met are referring patients....a nurse and office mgr in another medical office are referring...a psychologist sought care after an auto accident and experienced a major emotional release ...she refers regularly. In 2006, I had a 60% increase in new patients over 2005.....In Dec 2006, the new patients were 87% above the average, in January 2007, new patients increased 125% over the average month in 2006. Interestingly, December and January are traditionally slow months for new patients. KST delivers consistent and often amazing results...which brings an automatic increase in new patients!!! John Foley, DC I had a 31 y.o. female patient tell me after 8 months of not having any sexual drive, the night I adjusted her she went home and was "on fire" with her husband. (Apparently he's now in love with me too)… I took a curve out of a patient’s spine in 1 adjustment! It was AMAZING. Jeri Nardone, DC I have noticed a fairly significant upswing in my practice numbers since returning from the seminar…The biggest thing that I've noticed is in the improvement in chronic patients. Apparently, KST was able to bring out problems on a deeper level than even the kinesiology. I can't help but feel the KST work is really onto something BIG. With KST I am on the ground floor of a tremendous enhancement and advance in the practice of chiropractic. If you knew how many advanced courses I've taken in chiropractic in the last 20 years, you'd understand what a huge compliment that statement really is! Mike Clancey, DC What are you waiting for? KST is more than just another technique. Turn on your practice and yourself – next seminars are April in San Francisco and May in Houston. Instead of hitting “In Dolores Curran’s book The Traits of Healthy Families she found that in healthy families no one family member is dominant. While corporal punishment of children produces short-term obedience, it has long-term negative consequences on character and behavior. Research at the University of New Hampshire found that children who are rarely or never spanked have higher scores on cognitive tests than children who are frequently spanked.” Peggy O’Mara, Mothering, Nov/Dec 2004,p.8. Quackbusters "On the Ropes?" ... Opinion by Consumer Advocate Tim Bolen Friday, January 26th, 2007 Top "quackbuster" Robert S. Baratz MD, DDS, PhD was forcibly removed as a witness in a California case recently after it was pointed out to the State of California that Baratz was not quite what he claims to be. Cases all over the US, originally initiated by "quackbusters", are being dropped by state agencies - like hot potatoes. Why? Probably because "the word is out" about the "quackbusters" - and no state agency, and certainly no individual medical or dental board member wants the personal liability attached to using fake witnesses. To read the entire article http://www.bolenreport.net The truth can get you killed This woman is amazing. Unfortunately she is most likely going to get her throat cut. What a huge pair of ovaries!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEoUOCYWNWo Tamiflu flu vaccine linked to self-injury On November 13, 2006, the FDA approved labeling changes for oseltamivir phosphate (Tamiflu) to advise of the risk for neuropsychiatric events associated with its use…particularly for children who might be at increased risk for self-injury and delirium. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/552171 Breastfeeding protects mother from heart attacks http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=244892007 Breastfeeding is known to boost an infant's health – and now it seems it may be good for the mother as well. In a study of 96,648 nurses who gave birth between 1986 and 2002, those who had spent at least two years breastfeeding were 19% less likely to suffer a heart attack than those who had not breastfed at all. The leader of the study in New Scientist journal, Alison Steube of the Harvard Medical School, said that nursing a newborn may help a mother's metabolism switch from pregnancy mode back to normal. "Ultimately, when you decide to breastfeed your baby, what's foremost in your mind is not whether it will prevent you having a heart attack, but that it will be the best nutritional choice for your baby and an incredible bonding experience." Texas governor's executive order mandating HPV vaccine dead on arrival The order, issued on Friday before the Super Bowl, mandating all sixth grade girls be vaccinated with Merck's HPV vaccine, Gardasil, is rescinded. Critics – including AHRP – recognized that "Perry's end run around the news cycle and the Legislature is less about women's health than it is about lobby dollars and commissions." Indeed, Fox News reported that Merck doubled its spending on lobbyists in Texas this year, to between $150,000 and $250,000, as lawmakers consider the vaccine bill for girls entering the sixth grade. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,248781,00.html Humor Ten Thoughts to Ponder Number 10 - Life is sexually transmitted. Number 9 - Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. Number 8 - Men have two emotions: hungry and horny. If you see him without an erection, make him a sandwich! Number 7 - Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the internet and they won't bother you for weeks. Number 6 - Some people are like a slinky.....not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs. Number 5 - Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospitals dying of nothing. Number 4 - All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism. Number 3 - Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents? Number 2 - In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal. AND THE NUMBER 1 THOUGHT FOR 2005: We know exactly where one cow with mad-cow-disease is located among the millions and millions of cows in America but we haven't got a clue as to where thousands of illegal immigrants and terrorists are located. Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration. Letters I have always held you and your work in high esteem and would like to receive any feedback you may have. If you deem www.novaccine.com worthy, I would appreciate you sharing the site within your circle of influence. It's been a labor of love that I believe will help millions gain a greater awareness. - Dan Schultz, DC Tedd, S - - t may be a golf term, but I thought you'd be interested to know that the word GOLF also originated from an acronym in the early days of the game. It stood for Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden. This is according to an entertainment reporter quoting Tiger Woods. - John R. Nissley, Jr, DC Thanks John, I didn't know that about Golf. Apparently my discovery re: shit is incorrect. Go to http://www.snopes.com/language/acronyms/shit.asp. - Tedd Dr. Koren, I came across your writings about the NBCE part IV test and was glad to see that I am not alone in thinking that it is a huge waste of time and money. I know first hand, because I am going through it right now, failed part IV in May of 2006 ($1025 gone), so I thought well maybe I missed the small things a board review can give me......forked over $700 to NBS for review, spent two weeks going thru all of it............thought man after all this studying I am going to do way better than before. Wrong! I made pretty much the same score again on the Nov 2006 test. Now I am pissed, because I have talked to several other people that took it and seemed to answer the same way as I did, and they passed! Here is the funny thing....my first part IV score was lower than my second one.......but the report I got back for the second test had way more X's on it which are supposed to mean below 75%. Every time I contact the NBCE, they say that the tests are accurate, I ask to see my grade sheets where the graders write on them....they refuse. I asked why don't they have video recording devices in the rooms like we did when we took the exit exam at Texas Chiropractic College, they say that it is not required and that they trust the judgment of the examiners.....which everyone in the US knows that if you put 10 chiropractors in a room and ask them to perform a SLR, you will get 10 different ways of having it done. I am fed up with the NBCE and I am seriously considering going to law school and then afterward doing what I need to put a stop to this.......I wish someone would start some type of class action lawsuit.......you would have a ton of people join up. - (Name withheld by request) Tedd Koren responds: I empathize with you. I've often felt the NBCE was a corrupt organization. Have you discussed your concerns with an attorney? Have you called the ICA? Don’t bother with the ACA. See you next month.
