OK, let me know
how I sound. Do I still have a Brooklyn accent?
The Masters Circle recorded a number of my recent appearances.
This one below is a one-on-one interview with Jason Deitch; let
me know what you think (and saying “I thought you were taller”
is not funny anymore!!!).

Sticking
one’s neck out (and airing dirty laundry)
“Behold the turtle. He only makes progress when he sticks his
neck out.” - attributed to James Bryant Conant
(But he risks getting his head cut off.)
I’ve become a lightning rod by sticking my neck out. I began by
practicing, teaching and
writing. I was happy that my writing
evolved into patient education and Koren Publications. Lightning
struck when the Federal Trade Commission attacked, then it
struck again when the Quackbuster-in-chief Stephen Barrett, MD
sued me.
Practicing chiropractic begat Koren Specific Technique which has
been incredibly rewarding in terms of healing people who had not
responded to prior care but, oh my, what pettiness is in the
field of chiropractic “technique.”
For example, I applied to Sherman College for partnership for CE
credits for KST.
“Sorry, Dr. Koren we can’t work with you.”
“What’s the problem?”
“You teach cranial adjusting. It’s not chiropractic; BJ said the
cranials don’t move.”
“BJ made a mistake. He quoted Gray’s Anatomy when he said that
and Gray’s was wrong. I’m correcting subluxations in the skull
and other parts of the body with KST – subluxations are the
expression of imbalance in the body/mind….”
“Dr. Koren, when you decide to teach a CHIROPRACTIC technique
we’ll talk to you.”
Sherman also refused to let me speak on campus about childhood
vaccinations saying it “wasn’t chiropractic.” I must
respectfully disagree – I don’t know a more chiropractic subject
than childhood vaccination and I’ll be happy to debate anyone on
that issue.
Sherman is my alma mater – so sad.
PS. We are working with Life University for KST CE credits.
Thanks Life! Sadly, Life West and Palmer refused to work with
us. NYCC and Bridgeport refused to return my phone calls.
Teaching
Seth to drive
He’s pretty good. First we went to a construction site and
learned about putting the car in gear and going forward and
backward and steering. Then after Seth got his permit we went to
large parking lots, a local community college and then real
streets with other cars.
It’s been fun watching him develop skills that for me, after so
many years of driving, are automatic. It’s really a thrill to
re-experience how I learned to drive through teaching Seth. He
even drove in the rain and at night.
I must admit there have been times my leg was sore from pressing
on an imaginary brake but I’m doing it less and less. Our next
hurdles to conquer – the turnpike (we’re building up to that)
and parallel parking. |
Vaccination and kids
Having children begat my book Childhood Vaccination:
Questions All Parents Should Ask and The Vaccination Lecture
Kit.
I didn’t think we’d vaccinate when Seth was born but in the back
of my mind I had doubts – “Am I really doing the right thing?”
“Will he be somehow unprotected?” “Is it worth dealing with the
school system?” “With my mother-in-law?”
So I started studying, researching, going to conferences,
meeting people and the result was that neither of my children
has ever been vaccinated, and the above book and lecture.
Beth and I have never regretted our decision to keep Seth and
Shayna vaccine-free. The book and lecture kit were created to
give others, doctors and patients, the information that is in
the medical journals, but so few are able to find.
PS. Both are available at
www.korenpublications.com.
Brother
can you spare a dime? Charities I do not support: Alex’s
Lemonade stand, Race for the Cure, etc.
Am I being cruel? No, just selective. Let me first say that I
give a lot to various charities and I give a lot of free care
but I (in general) do not support medical research.
As far as I’m concerned it means throwing good money after bad.
For example, autism research is looking for a “genetic” cause of
this epidemic yet geneticists tell us it’s impossible to have an
epidemic that is based on genetics. Why do they do this? Because
it blames the parents: “You gave your kid bad genes.” It also
absolves the government and the medical profession and their
vaccines (as well as the dental profession and its use of
mercury).
How about looking at the track record? Eighty years of the
American Cancer Society asking for money (and getting loads of
it!) and nothing to show for it. They keep promising us, “A cure
is on the way.” Give me a break. They are looking in the wrong
places – they’ll never, ever find a “cure” because they aren’t
looking for a cure.
What we need in this country is a charity that looks at
healthcare from a non-medical perspective – that is why we
created the Foundation for Health Choice. One of our goals is to
create a “holistic” charitable fund that gives money to support
research that will really make a difference.
Darwin
never said “survival of the fittest”
He never said “survival of the fittest” except to complain about
it.
That phrase was coined by Herbert Spencer who wanted to use
Darwin’s theories to promote his “Social Darwinism” – a
dangerous idea that the Nazis used to justify murdering
millions.
Darwin noted that compassion and cooperation were those
qualities that distinguished “savages” from advanced
civilizations. That is the reason why some societies and species
survived and others did not.
A
wonderful goal none of the candidates care about
Peace, easy taxes and a tolerable
administration of justice.
– Adam Smith
The most famous critic of the mercantilist system (a government
oppressing citizens with rules, laws, taxes and excessive
regulation) was Adam Smith, professor of moral philosophy at
Glasgow University and author of The Theory of Moral Sentiments
(1759) and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth
of Nations (1776). Smith urged a free market approach to
political economy, observing in 1755, for instance:
Little else is required to carry a state to the highest
degree of affluence from the lowest barbarism but peace, easy
taxes, and a tolerable administration of justice; all the rest
being brought about by the natural course of things. All
governments which thwart the natural course are unnatural, and,
to support themselves, are obliged to be oppressive and
tyrannical.
I’m voting
Libertarian for President
For those of you who are unable to vote for people who promote
the ideals of Adam Smith, etc. (see above), I guess Obama would
be the favored choice. Hillary is in big with the
pharmaceuticals and McCain is pretty much more of the same. Hey,
they’re all socialists to a greater or lesser degree – big
powerful government will solve our problems (Where? When?).
No matter who is elected I pity him/her. Why? Because they’ll
have such a mess on their hands. Our taxes will have to be
raised to pay for all the debt we’ve accumulated and we all know
politicians will destroy our standard of living before they’ll
ever limit government spending (a real alternative to raising
taxes).

Do you
write letters like this about your technique?
“First day after the seminar I adjusted my office manager using
KST. She had a very prominent thoracic hump. After she could
breathe much easier…. The next day the hump was gone! My wife
who suffered continually with headaches has seen them reduced to
almost nothing. She used to ask for daily adjustments, she
hasn't asked in over a month. I see these results over and over
again. So far in 2008, new patients have doubled, gross income
is up 20% and my personal income is up 32%. All I want to say is
THANK YOU!” Benjamin Peterson, DC
“The results are absolutely incredible. The neat thing is I am
adjusting the exact order in which the onion is to be unraveled.
Tedd, there are so many miracles before I even got home from the
conference that I can’t tell you all of them or I would be
writing only and not working. So I just want to say thanks so
much. All of my patients from young to old left with perfect
posture without prompting. None of them had any forward head
carriage, shoulders were aligned medially to the upper body and
leg. They were amazed!” Thank you, Rob Crisman, DC
“I am having a ball with KST! I've had success with the weight
loss pattern: the patient has lost her craving for certain foods
– it started after the first adjustment using KST! Certain
people are getting better so fast that I have to get much better
at the "Wellness" talk or else I think they'll be gone!!! I am
thrilled.” Nina Englander, DC
Come to an upcoming
KST seminar:

Please read this petition and send this to your entire
mailing list. Assemblyman Marc Alessi is trying diligently
to pass a philosophical exemption for vaccines in New York
and we need as many signatures as possible. Thank you in
advance for your help. My 11-year-old son Luke is still
being kept out of public school since kindergarten for my
wise decision to keep him healthy and not to vaccinate. I
would appreciate you great assistance in this arena for all
of us. Love your vaccine book and your new CD that is in it.
Please take the time to sign this petition and send to as
many friends as you know support the CHOICE of whether to
vaccinate our children and not to be FORCED by the state to
make decisions about our children's health and wellbeing....
Thank you from my heart, Dr. Lynn Friedman

Humor
These were posted on an Australian Tourism Website and the
answers are the actual responses by the website officials.
Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia? I have never seen it
rain on TV, how do the plants grow? (UK)
A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around
watching them die.
Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street? (USA)
A: Depends how much you've been drinking.
Q: I want to walk from Perth to Sydney – can I follow the
railroad tracks? (Sweden)
A: Sure, it's only three thousand miles, take lots of water.
Q: Are there any ATMs (cash machines) in Australia? Can you
send me a list of them in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and
Hervey Bay? (UK)
A: What did your last slave die of?
Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in
Australia ? (USA)
A: Africa is the big triangle shaped continent south of
Europe. Australia is that big island in the
middle of the Pacific which does not ... oh forget it. Sure,
the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come
naked.
Q: Which direction is North in Australia? (USA)
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you
get here and we'll send the rest of the directions.
Q: Can I bring cutlery into Australia? (UK)
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.
Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule? (USA)
A: Austria is that quaint little country bordering Germany,
which is ... oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays
every Tuesday night in Kings Cross, straight after the hippo
races. Come naked.
Q: Can I wear high heels in Australia? (UK)
A: You are a British politician, right?
Q: Are there supermarkets in Sydney and is milk available
all year round? (Germany)
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of vegan
hunter/gatherers. Milk is illegal.
Q: Please send a list of all doctors in Australia who can
dispense rattlesnake serum. (USA)
A: Rattlesnakes live in America which is where YOU come
from. All Australian snakes are
perfectly harmless, can be safely handled and make good
pets.
Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Australia, but
I forget its name. It's a kind of bear and lives in trees.
(USA)
A: It's called a Drop Bear. They are so called because they
drop out of Gum trees and eat the brains of anyone walking
underneath them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself
with human urine before you go out walking.
Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of
youth. Can you tell me where I can sell it in Australia?
(USA)
A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather.
Q: Can you tell me the regions in Tasmania where the female
population is smaller than the male population? (Italy)
A: Yes, gay night clubs.
Q: Do you celebrate Christmas in Australia? (France)
A: Only at Christmas.
Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? (USA)
A: Yes, but you'll have to learn it first.
